This was our first year to be home for Christmas and enjoy a new Olson family tradition of having Christmas in Grand Forks. Everyone met in Grand Forks for two nights a hotel that had great features for everyone! The kids loved swimming, adults did some shopping, eating, catching up, etc. It was such a nice three days together and we're a big fan of this new tradition.
We feel so blessed to be part of such wonderful families. We know that too many people aren't as lucky as we are and we are thankful for each and every one of our friends and family members.
After a long day of swimming it was time for the gift exchange. Each year we start it out with a little devotional that reminds us of the real reason for the season. This year we were required to recite a verse before we could open our present! I must say I was a little nervous at first, but I found it to be such a great experience to search out the perfect verse, practice it, and then along with everyone else recite it. It was so encouraging to hear everyone (kids included) recite their verse. Another awesome tradition might have started there....
Little Henrik is getting SO big! It amazes me that he was such a little premie. Thankful that he seems to be growing into a strong and happy boy!! This was such a cute hat from Grandma Jan and Grandpa Steve.
And of course the pool time! The kids enjoyed some time with each other, water guns, and especially when the dads/uncles came to swim with them too! No one wanted to take on this tower below....
Such a fun fun few days! :) Thanks Steve and Jan for setting this all up and making it possible!
