These guys work fast. Our two carpenters have two others currently working with them and boy do they make progress quickly together!! This was the following day. All of the rooms were framed in on the first floor and the floor tresses were being put in for the second floor!!! Every day things become more real for us.
I have to give a big shout out to my dad, and also my father-in-law! They have been a ton of help with the build. They are either checking in on the site, doing work around the land to better assist the carpenters, and helping where ever they can!
Here is a view from when you drive in. We have our front door with two windows on both sides. The big opening is a nice big window where our dining room table will be. :) Eek!
This is the side of the house that faces the water. From left to right for windows: Master bedroom, nursery, big window in living room, small windows on either side of the sliding door in the living room and the smaller window is above the kitchen sink.
It isn't always the neatest at the job site. We've been battling with water basically this whole time! It's just been a really wet summer. Looking back we'll remember (and hopefully laugh) about the on going discussion on needing fill vs. not. haha. Makes me laugh... it's brought up some frustrating conversations! Laura even joked that if our baby is a boy, we should name him "phil" --- She's something else! haha. With it being wet, work boots are probably a good idea. I sunk right into a stump hole that was covered while taking pictures around the house... That was interesting. At least Dad was on site to help me pull myself out.
