First off, Ellis had his first bottle! Still breast milk, but bottle fed. I've started to excess pump to have milk on hand. I am so thankful that Ellis took to the bottle right away and isn't stubborn about HOW he gets his milk. :) Dad was pretty happy to get to feed him too.
We tried out our high chair a little... Ellis is gaining more and more control of his head which is great! It will be awhile still before he needs to use his high chair for food. But, it makes for a great seat if needed.
I can finally easily get Ellis into the car. We can run errands again on our own without the assistance of Dad. I must say though, it's easier if we are all together! Ellis and I did a Walmart run the other day... I ended up carrying him through the store and pushing the car one handed around their jammed pack store... that wasn't that great. BUT it did keep me on track to get exactly what I came for and get out of there without getting distracted by other things.
Dad picked out this elephant for Ellis at Target the other day. It plays music and lights up the ceiling with stars. Ellis LOVES it, and surprisingly enough can watch the stars on the ceiling. Great pick Daddy!
He's getting so big!! Weighing in at 10.5lbs now!
The SPOTS.
So we spent an unwanted 4 days in the hospital a couple weekends ago. It all started with a scare of some weird spots, and eventually he had to go to the ER with a fever. :( Those original spots have cleared up. Gone. BUT the doctors still don't know what exactly it was. Now he's got these little red spots all over his face, back and tummy. Great. So, we had a follow up appointment in Orlando (where he was hospitalized) for the original spots and then added a check for these new spots. As far as they can tell at this point they think this rash is due to an allergic reaction to "something" they aren't sure what. So we've cut out our Tide with febrees laundry detergent with ALL free and clear, and eliminated Johnson and Johnson products and will stick with just water baths for awhile. (Doctors recommendations.) We are currently putting hydrocortisone on his spots hoping to eliminate them once and for all!
Ellis has been through some weird skin stuff so far in his 7 weeks of life! Hoping to get past this and be done with the mystery spots and all other health scares at that. He did have a follow up of blood work yesterday and a liver number check. When we were in the hospital his liver numbers and white blood cell count was a little higher than they would have liked to see. Praise God, they all came back normal!!!
So, we continue on and see what each day brings us with this little guy! He's so sweet and we are so in love with him! His personality shines more and more each day.
