Our house is about a five minute bike ride to the beach and we're soaking it up! This weekend Brent rented a long surf board from base to test out his surf skills. Pre warned that it was pretty tough, Brent found that out himself really quick. It's a lot of work for a quick wave and you have to really work on getting your timing right to be able to ride the wave. Towards the end of the weekend he started to body surf the waves. (Basically just swimming with the wave) He enjoyed that. I think that we will probably keep our eyes open for a used long board for Brent to continue to practice with. I'm a little interested in a paddle board. (Which is a long surf board that you stand or sit on with a paddle) but I'm a little timid because it's the OCEAN! and Brent said there were fish all over out there... eeeek.
Last night we went out to dinner with a group from the chapel. It was Chi's surprise birthday party. (You probably know her or know her from story book some of you. She's now married to Matt Price.) We had dinner at the Long Dogger and at the end of the night Fafo ordered up a special treat for the birthday girl, Brent and Fredo! Pie's in the face! :) It was awesome! (Chi was quick to wash hers off so I don't have a picture of hers but the boys were laughing so hard.)
